We have become aware that an individual involved in our childcare branch has recently tested positive for COVID-19. We are keeping them in our thoughts and hoping they have a speedy recovery.
We have consulted with the Licking County Health Department and have fully evaluated the situation. The health department’s public health nurse contact tracers have determined that none of the children in our care or our staff are defined as “close contacts” and there is no need for anyone to quarantine. The individual is following guidance from the health department and is remaining isolated until they are classified as recovered.
We feel confident that all of our appropriate COVID-19 guidance was followed by this individual, including the wearing of masks when in close proximity of children, social distancing, small groups, proper and often cleaning, and handwashing.
We want to ensure the health and safety of the children in our care and our staff is our first priority. That in mind, we are resubmitting our current COVID-19 protocol plan to the health department for review to make sure all needs are continuing to be met. Lastly, we will reiterate to everyone visiting the YMCA how important it is to stay home when feeling sick.
We are committed to providing a safe environment. Please stay safe and take care of yourself. We want to see you at the Y as often as possible!
Sincerely,
Edward Bohren
