Group water exercise classes which enhance strength and flexibility, improve muscle tone and endurance while at the same time providing a great cardiovascular workout in the pool.
Programs
Aerobic Waves (Low to Medium Impact)
Shallow water aerobic and resistance workout. No swimming skills are necessary.
Water shoes are recommended, but not required. Bring a water bottle. Meets in
Evans Pool (lap pool), Monday & Wednesday, 9:00 – 10:00 am.
Wet & Wyld (Low to Medium Impact)
Deep water aerobic and resistance workout. Little or no impact on joints.
Participants wear a jogging belt (provided). Some comfort in deep water helps, but
participants can stay in shallower water if desired. Bring a water bottle. Meets in
Evans Pool (lap pool), Tuesday & Thursday, 9:00 – 10:00 am.
Hour of Power (Medium to High Impact)
Chest-deep vigorous aerobic interval and plyometric (jumping) workout. No
swimming skills necessary. Water shoes are recommended. Bring a water bottle.
Meets in Evans Pool (lap pool), Monday & Wednesday, 11:30 – 12:30; Friday, 9:00
– 10:00 am.
Aerobic Splash (Low to Medium Impact)
Vigorous water aerobic workout combined with resistance and stretching shallow
water. No swimming skills necessary. Water shoes are recommended. Bring a water
bottle. Meets in Barker Pool (warm water), Tuesday, Thursday, & Friday, 9:00-
10:00 am.
Active Aquatics Arthritis (Low Impact)
Warm water strength and conditioning workout in shallow water. No swimming
skills necessary. Water shoes recommended, but not required. Bring a water bottle.
Meets in Barker Pool (warm water). Tuesday & Thursday, 1:00 – 2:00 pm; Monday,
Wednesday, Friday, 1:00 – 2:00 pm or 2:00 – 3:00 pm.
Ai Chi (No Impact)
Shallow water deep-breathing & stretching, similar to Tai Chi on land. Meets in
Barker Pool (warm water) Tuesday & Thursday, 10:00 – 10:25 am.
