Our Strategic Action
Brand Positioning and Communication
A larger segment of our communities must see the Y as a purpose-driven, pro-active organization striving to build and strengthen people and communities and not just a place to exercise or swim. We will take steps to improve and refresh YMCA communications and marketing to tell our story more effectively.
The Member Experience
When a member visits any of our facilities or participates in a community-based program, they must have an experience that sets the YMCA apart from other providers. We will differentiate by being more welcoming and relationship focused, providing a wider variety of high-quality opportunities for people to become engaged (including through our technology), and offering fun, interactive, engaging Child Watch environments.
Youth Development Programs
Through programs offered at Y facilities and through Y on the Fly outreach, we will strive to engage an increasingly greater percentage of our communities’ youth in programs that are fun, engaging, curriculum-based opportunities for developing new skills, making friends, and experiencing belonging.
Active Adult Programs
Through programs offered at Y facilities and through Y on the Fly outreach, we will provide more opportunities for active adults to gain access to YMCA programs and services that support healthy living, foster socialization, and create feelings of belonging.
Capital Improvements & Expansion
To meet growing demand for YMCA experiences in West Licking County while also ensuring we have the facilities to accomplish our membership and program strategies, we will undertake an ambitious Capital Campaign to expand the YMCA facility in Pataskala. Additionally, we will explore opportunities for working with Muskingum County funders to revitalize the park at Adam’s Lane. Finally, we will work to secure land or a partnership that will set the stage for a new YMCA in Johnstown, Ohio.
Partnership
To accomplish the above objectives, the YMCA must deepen our existing partnerships while also identifying, cultivating, and beginning work with new partners with whom we can work to increase access and deepen impact.
