For generations, the YMCA has been known for its commitment to family life. YMCA programs and services have grown and adapted to the changing needs of families. Today, more and more parents are looking for quality, yet affordable childcare they can depend on. Whether your child is attending our infant/toddler program, preschool or our school-age child care program, our goal is to provide a safe, fun environment. Like all Y programs, childcare is open to all.
We emphasize the four core values: caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. We teach this to the children through day-to-day experiences, activities, and lessons. We give the children the opportunity to use verbal communication to solve problems. Our staff serves as positive role models and provides care that is supportive, nurturing, warm and responsive to each child's needs. Our open-door policy allows parents the freedom of knowing what their children are doing at all times during the day.
The Buckeye Valley Family YMCA childcare center is licensed by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.
Infants
Our teachers know that an infant who receives highly responsive care becomes more capable of learning. They offer the gentle interactions that build trust as they feed, diaper, sing, talk and play with your child. Our program also provides a stimulating play environment as well as activities that excited and engage the infants at their own developmental level.
Toddler
Navigating, protecting and enriching the life and adventurous spirit of your toddler is precisely why we have taken great care in developing a toddler program that includes daily activities specifically focusing on developing cognitive, physical and social, language and self-help skills. Our teachers provide specifically designed lesson plans that offer exploration, excitement and exercise.
Twos
The unique needs of your two-year-old are met through our well-directed twos program, offering your child what he/she needs to succeed: the safety and freedom of a secure environment to explore that is full of enrichment and praise. Our program offers daily discover times that provide an opportunity to explore the learning centers with both teacher-directed and child-initiated activities.
Preschool
Our preschool program lays the groundwork for successful elementary school years. The teachers instill a love of learning that allows our children to be life-long learners through a variety of engaging experiences. By allowing these children to participate in a safe, consistent, familiar preschool environment they develop a comfort level and willingness to take risks in the classroom and this allows them to become more involved and ask questions, participate, and become leaders in their future classrooms.
School Age
This program provides quality affordable care for children ages six through thirteen that will help promote social, emotional, and cognitive skills. The program operates from 7:00am-6:00pm providing care for both before and after school hours, including early release days, allowing parents to work a full day. Care is made available during snow days and regularly scheduled out-of-school days such as Spring Break, Christmas vacation, and teacher in-service days.
