POLICIES

*PLEASE REVIEW AS SOME POLICIES HAVE CHANGED*

  • Closure Due to Inclement Weather - All individuals will be asked to return to their vehicles until the warning has been lifted. Individuals cannot congregate near the building.
  • Temperature Closure - The pool will NOT open if the air temperature does not reach 70° by 11:00 am each day.
  • Safety is our main priority. All other summer outdoor pool rules still apply and will be enforced.
    • All those age 12 years and under must be accompanied by an adult at all times
    • All lifejackets/puddle jumpers must be U.S. Coast Guard Approved
    • No pool noodles, rafts, or other inflatables allowed with the exception of baby boats covered in a fabric/mesh
    • Swim Test Policy: All those age 12 years and younger must take the swim test which consists of jumping into the pool, treading water for 1 minute, swim 25 meters to the end of the pool and exit without using the ladder. Swimmers need to demonstrate an efficient stroke and strong competency in the water to be able to pass.
      • PLEASE NOTE: The individual is not judged on stroke mechanics, but rather their overall demonstration of swimming strength, endurance, and comfort in the water.

NEW BAND POLICY FOR 2024

Green Band - Has successfully completed the swim test requirements and demonstrated swimming strength and endurance. Is able to swim freely anywhere in the pool

Yellow Band - Has completed the swim test requirements but did not demonstrate the swimming strength or endurance in order to sustain prolonged swimming in deeper water. Must remain inside the yellow marked swimming area.

Red Band - Did not pass the swim test or did not attempt the swim test. Must remain inside the red marked swimming area regardless of height.

Purple Band - Swimmers who have earned a YELLOW or GREEN Band AND they exceed 48” in height and are able to go down the slide.

*We are implementing a double band system this year to allow more swimmers access to the slides.

OTHER EXCITING CHANGES FOR 2024:

The Red Marker on the bottom of the pool has been extended! This allows our swimmers to enjoy more of the pool, however an adult must remain within arms reach of their red band swimmers at all times.
